I think I've seen more snakes in the last week than I've seen the whole nearly 11 years I've been living here in Wakulla County.... A rather large oak snake stretched out across the dirt road, a huge rattler that had been run over on Woodville Highway, and a coach whip darting across the road in front of me.
My husband and son saw a large rattler in the St. Marks Refuge today.
And my boss has a Florida Kingsnake that has taken up residence at his swimming pool, thoroughly freaking his wife out. She wants it killed, he wants to relocate it.
Snakes are good people, but there seem to be an unusual number of them around this year.
