I should be...

I went to visit Nienke and found this "test" there. I'm a little surprised! Are you?

You Should Be a Film Writer

You don't just create compelling stories, you see them as clearly as a movie in your mind.
You have a knack for details and dialogue. You can really make a character come to life.
Chances are, you enjoy creating all types of stories. The joy is in the storytelling.
And nothing would please you more than millions of people seeing your story on the big screen!

Not in the least surprised. You can write AND visualize. That's why your station promos were so good and why your blog/photo entries are so good. Keep it up.

My results- funny, when I took this six months ago I was a Humor Writer. I guess I should be writing funny science fiction!

You Should Be a Science Fiction Writer

Your ideas are very strange, and people often wonder what planet you're from.
And while you may have some problems being "normal," you'll have no problems writing sci-fi.
Whether it's epic films, important novels, or vivid comics...
Your own little universe could leave an important mark on the world!

I did start a screenplay six years ago- about a science crew who accidently found the forumla to creating life from inert matter while terraforming Mars. The film is less about the science, and more about the world social chaos when, essentially, the little team found a way to nix God out of the whole Life Creation recipe.

I'm supposed to be a joke writer:

You're totally hilarious, and you can find the humor in any situation.
Whether you're spouting off zingers, comebacks, or jokes about life...
You usually can keep a crowd laughing, and you have plenty of material.
You have the makings of a great comedian - or comedic writer.

I was also told I should be a science fiction writer. It was this question that stumped me:

What inspires you?
"What if" scenarios
All of the beauty in every day life
True love
All the quirky people you meet and things you see
Music
Your favorite books and movies

Why is there never an all of the above choice when you need it?:)

Thanks, Mom!

Somehow, your answer didn't surprise me, Alice. What did you do with your screenplay? Do you still have it?

Nikki and Dawn - ha! Jokes! I'm not sure if jokes or humor (there IS a difference) are your strong points. I just know that you guys make me laugh.

Welcome, Mrs. Mogul! What part of Florida are you moving to? We natives have it divided up. Atlantic, West Coast, South Fla, North Fla, Central Fla, Big Bend of Fla, Western (aka Panhandle) Fla, and Eastern Fla. I know some of it sounds redundant, but believe me... there is a difference! Fellow film writers welcome!

Yes, Sayre, I agree with Stephanie. I'm glad you're blogging and beginning your book!

My screenplay never got finished; it like a few other writings I did, ended up destroyed when I got a block. Thank goodness now a lot of my self-edits don't destroy the only hard copy. But with the screenplay, I dumped it. Deleted it. Goddammit. I got hosed around the denoument and couldn't figure out how to wrap it up.

I really wish I wasn't so damn critical of my own work that I end up destroying it. I mean, Mark Twain almost destroyed Hucklebery Finn when he was pissed at it, he just buried it in a box and then dug it up later, and look where that is!

OK- that's it. No more destruction of my own work- I'll just put it in an electronic 'box' like Mark Twain did.
