My Social Life Happens at Noon

Those of you with kinky minds are probably thinking I am referring to "nooners". Sorry to disappoint you...

As I was walking back from lunch (before the dead turtle), I was thinking to myself that all my socializing seems to happen at lunch. I had lunch today with my cousin at the golf course (home of the BEST cheeseburger ever!). The golf course is halfway between my job and her's and is walking distance for both of us. She'd been going to the golf course for a while before I knew about it - what a discovery! And it was reasonable!

Anyway... I love my cousin. We GET each other. Something about the way she tells a story to me or the way I tell one to her... we set each other off. You can always find us by following the raucous laughter. It has always been this way between us. You wouldn't know it to look at us individually, but together, we find ourselves hilarious. The golf course people probably bring earplugs on Thursdays just in case we show up because there is guaranteed to be an explosion of laughter at some point during lunch.

I also go to lunch with my friend K once or twice a week. It's either subs or Chinese. So there's three days right there. Every once in a while I'll have lunch with my husband, or my Mom or Dad will come into town, but there is at least two days a week when I get to visit with someone over lunch.

Our schedules are so weird - they just don't fit in with anyone else's. We're up early (Dear Man gets up at 4:15. I'm up at 5am, and my sweet boy is usually up between 6 and 6:30. We go to bed early too. Dear Man around 7, sweet boy at 8-8:30, and me? Usually 8-10. I rarely stay up past 10, and usually am in the sack around 8:30 as soon as the kid goes down. This definitely makes us weird. When people call at 9pm and wake us up, they're always shocked. Most people know that someone better be bleeding if they call after 8. If there's not, there will be...

Weekends are for getting chores done. Some family visiting, but mostly laundry and yard work. Maybe some grocery shopping.

Looking forward to this weekend. My little brother and his roomie are coming for a visit. Lavender hair and all.

Funny, I hate "lunching" - I'm too type A and need to keep on plowing through my work during lunch. Lame, I know.

By the time 11am rolls around, I need a break. My work involves lots of computer screen time and my eyes are starting to need a lot of help. Taking an hour to not look at the screen helps quite a bit.
