Out of Hours

Because of my travel day, I ran out of hours before I ran out of week at work. So today, I didn't have to work!!!! What do I do with a gorgeous day and no work, no kid, no husband?

Laundry.

Yes, you read that right. I got caught up on laundry. And ironing. I never iron, but today I did. And while I was ironing, I watched a Star Wars special on the making of the original trilogy and I watched Star Wars I: Phantom Menace. That's a lot of ironing. And a lot of Star Wars.

I think there's something inherently relaxing about doing laundry. It can't all be done at once - it must be done in measured intervals. You can do other things while doing it because it doesn't actually require much attention. And while you can get behind quickly, you can also catch up quickly. And it smells good!

Yup - the laundry force was with me!

Laundry . . . there is nothing like it being finished, folded, and stacked - especially in the fall. I don't know why the fall, but it works for me.

Favorite memories: hanging diapers on a long clothesline under tall pines in a gentle breeze; you and John playing on a blanket in the shade; crows cawing in the pines; the scent of fresh mown grass. A little slice of paradise.

I actually don't mind doing laundry. The smell alone is worth it. The after smell, that is.:)
