Z-boy's new digs

My friend Steph asked if I were doing fall cleaning. Answer: YES! Fall cleaning makes so much more sense to me that spring cleaning. In the fall, you're getting ready to spend more time inside - doesn't it make sense that you want to get your inside surroundings ready?

Well, Z-boy was ready to stop sleeping on that broken down old futon. It creaked and squealed everytime you moved and I would wake up every time Z turned over. So I was ready for a change too!

Behold - the before shots:

Lots of elbow grease, some heavy lifting and hunting all over town for the right headboard, and this is what we've got:

This morning, Z actually MADE HIS BED. Well, he actually CAN now... before, it was very hard to make that futon - even I gave up on it.

I don't know if I've caught something or just stirred up lots of dust, but I'm sneezing my head off, trying to catch up with my runny nose, and sucking lozenges to try to calm the itch in my throat. I hope it's not a cold. That would just suck.

He made his bed and lied in it. Perfect!:)

Christina beat me to the hardwood floors comment. I replaced carpeting in a house I am trying to sell. The carpet guys pulled the old carpeting up and I had beautiful floors underneath. Then, since the new carpeting was already paid for, I had it covered up. :P

Nikki - sorry Aaron's feeling so bad. I'm not feeling so hot my own self...

Thanks for the compliments, ya'll! The floors really are very nice, but desperately need to be refinished. The color's really pretty. The owners had kept them covered for 35 years!!! With really ugly carpet. If we wind up buying this place, the floors are definitely on the list!

How come no one has cracked a "Zed-Bed" joke yet?

Then again, I guess the fact that on that side of the Atlantic you pronounce it "Zee" instead of "Zed" might have something to do with it...

*cough*

That actually has a lot to do with it, Kim... but of course we can always pretend it's French: zee boy, zee bed...

AND THE ROOM LOOKS GREAT! AND THE CROWD GOES WILD!!! WOOO-HOOO!

It's actually amazing what even just making the bed can do to a room, no? I know that you did a LOT more, but you know what I mean?

My son has a daily check list that he has to fill out for his karate class. It's actually a belt requirement. It has to do with self respect and responsibility - and making the bed is at the TOP of the list!
