Janet's Tuesday Poser

For Valentine's Day, Janet is going in a slightly different direction...

Janet writes:
On the eve of Valentine's Day everyone is going to be all about how "All You Need Is Love". While I do believe that everyone needs love and that there are right someone(s) out there for everybody, sometimes feelings of love remain hidden and unrevealed or simply, unfulfilled. So today I decided to go in a different direction with cupid's arrow. The TITMT question of today asks...

What are, in your opinion, the best songs about pining or unrequited love?

Two songs pop into my head, though they aren't your typical romantic angst-type songs...

1) Something in Red by Lorrie Morgan
This is about the cycle of love for one woman, from longing to jealousy to fulfillment to doubt to determination. It ALWAYS makes me cry because I can relate to it so well.

2) How Can I Help You to Say Goodbye by Patty Loveless (Not) Trisha Yearwood
This one is about farewells - to friends, to love, to family. Inexpressibly sad and still, kind of an uplifting song as well.

Keep your hankies handy because you're gonna need them!!!!!

Sorry, darling, I just couldn't resist. This is my entry. I tried to send you a link to your blog, but can't figure out how to do it. So I'll send it to you in a regular e-mail, and if you want to put it in your blog, You will have to figure out how. This was written by "Two-Ton" Baker, the Music Maker, and recorded by him and also by Homer and Jethro. The title is, "I've Got Tears in My Ears from lyin' on my back in my bed while I cry over you". Enjoy.
Love, Mom

Ha! I think her name should be Patty Loveless (Not) Trisha Yearwood. It's way more entertaining that way.
