Fun Monday - Don't Leave Home without It

Candid Karina is our host this week and she wants to know about our security blankets. What can you NOT leave home without????

It sort of depends on where I'm going... but when I go to work, I need all of this stuff:

My purse, with all the usual stuff (wallet, pens, calculator, dead receipts), my cell phone, my keys, and lately, reading glasses because my eyes are getting old enough that I can't really read without them anymore.

Behind the purse is my portable office. In that bag is all the paperwork I need to get two days of work done. That's satellite schedules, local programming grids, promotional rundowns and whatever notes I have taken that apply to work. There is also a box of highlighters (yellow, pink, blue, green), a stopwatch and a large bottle of ibuprophen.

But these are what I absolutely need in order to step out of my house on ANY given day:

That's right... my cheap sunglasses. I go through a pair every few months because I wear them constantly - even on gray, cloudy days. I also have a bad habit of losing them or sitting on them and sometimes I can't find them because my husband decides he needs them. I do not go out without them. If I do, I get headaches and I can't see. I wonder if I'm allergic to the sunlight sometimes because it's so painful to my eyes to be out there bare, but I think they're just really, really light sensitive.

Go see Karina for a list of this week's participants!

I love cheap sunglasses.

No anxiety about accidentally sitting on them.

Which I do. All the time.

Cheap sunglasses are the best. Especially on the days when your three year old thinks they are the best. toy. ever.

Love your little red purse!

Cheap sunglasses rock! I had them right up until the time I had to get prescription sunglasses...getting old is not only not for cowards, it's not for the seriously cash impaired, either.

I used to always wear my sunglasses. Then we moved to Seattle. Um...not much need!

I buy the cheapies too. i always find the ones with wide arms to keep the sun out of the sides too and keep the wrinkles at bay.

I have several pairs of sunglasses for the same reason. I need them to survive.

I sneeze if I got outside w/o sunglasses. I read in "Science" magazine that I had an allergic reaction to Ultra Violet Light.

I need a new pair because I sat on mine too. I ..uh... cracked.. them. tee hee.

You have a full time job just carrying that stuff around.

I miss being able to wear cheap sunglasses, but I wear glasses full time now, so it's prescription sunglasses for me now, and those are NOT cheap enough that I can afford more than one pair...bummer!

Too bad you have to carry so much stuff for work. But, if you have to you have to. There are a lot of people who have to wear sunglasses. I wear them too, but I don't have to.

I wonder if you have the same light sensitivity I do... I 'suffer' from photic sneezing -- meaning if I step out into very bright light, I start sneezing every five seconds until my eyes adjust.

Gotta have my sunglasses. Seems the older I get the sensitive my eyes are to the sunlight.

I wish I had stock in cheap sunglasses. I finally gave up and squint, b/c I've broken so many pair. You have inspired me to try again!
