Today's posts are bookish!

You're The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe!

by C.S. Lewis

You were just looking for some decent clothes when everything changed
quite dramatically. For the better or for the worse, it is still hard to tell. Now it
seems like winter will never end and you feel cursed. Soon there will be an epic
struggle between two forces in your life and you are very concerned about a betrayal
that could turn the balance. If this makes it sound like you're re-enacting Christian
theological events, that may or may not be coincidence. When in doubt, put your trust
in zoo animals.

Take the Book Quiz
at the Blue Pyramid.

In other book-type subjects, Karisma has tagged me for a book meme... the rules:

Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).

Open the book to page 123.Find the fifth sentence.

Post the next three sentences.

Tag five people and ask them to do the same.

I'm sitting in the computer room, right next to a bookshelf full of the most random books imagineable. Everything from "NoPlot, No Problem" to "Little Rocket's Special Star". So I pulled two books off.

You will have a royal mess on your hands if you bounce your own automatic deposit. This is going to feel weird in the beginning. You won't like making this big debit entry in your regular checkbook becaues it feels like you're throwing money away. You're spending but not getting anything in return. But no, you are managing your money, controlling money instead of letting it control you. - "Debt-Proof Living" by Mary Hunt

and

There was nothing to do but to save her breath and strength so when he deigned to keep their appointment, she could shout for help. With two people, one of whom could stand, gain purchase and fetch levers, she had no doubt the rock could be shifted. With care, it could be moved in such a way her feet wouldn't be squashed in the process and she could walk out on her own. New to the park, the first female district ranger in Rocky, the thought of being the centerpiece of a carry-out was easily more frightening than lying pinned under a rock a bit longer. - "Hard Truth" by Nevada Barr

I love both of these books. The first one enabled me to get us out of debt to the point where we were able to buy the house we're in now. And I absolutely adore Nevada Barr's books about Anna Pidgeon, woman park ranger.

Hmmm... now I'm supposed to tag five people. I am terrible at tagging - so if you wish to participate, leave me a comment and consider yourself tagged. I'll come over and have a look!

This is very cool. I haven't read a Nevada Barr book in about a year. Must be time for a trip to the library.

Consider me tagged, please.

My book quiz results are not suprising. Only measuring time by coffee spoons, in my opinion, is an act of noticing the joy in the mundane- not a mechanism to avoid loss or rejection.

You're Prufrock and Other Observations!
by T.S. Eliot
Though you are very short and often overshadowed, your voice is poetic and lyrical. Dark and brooding, you see the world as a hopeless effort of people trying to impress other people. Though you make reference to almost everything, you've really heard enough about Michelangelo. You measure out your life with coffee spoons.

Sounds interesting, I'll have to try that book quiz.
