Fun Monday - I Ought'a Be a Picture!

Janet (from the Planet of Janet) gave us all a huge challenge this week! It was a lot harder than I thought it would be - from casting to just doing a quick recap of my life. My past life has reappeared in my present life and as such, I've been spending a lot of my mental time looking back in the last month - partially to see who I was then, and how I became who I am now. So in a way, I've been working on this for a month - but hadn't cast any parts yet. Janet says:

Hollywood has come calling. They want to make a movie of your life story!

So here's what I want to read about: Write the brief synopsis of this film that you might use to pitch this project and cast the principal players. Who would play you? You can either cast or ignore significant others, children and/or pets. This is, after all, YOUR movie about you you YOU! Illustrate as needed with casting photos or filming locations. Your life not interesting enough? Hey, this is Hollywood. Never let the facts get in the way of a good story!

THE TRULY AMAZING AND UTTERLY FASCINATING LIFE OF SAYRE
She was born nearly 46 years ago in the very same town she lives in now. It may not seem like she got very far, but now she lives in a totally different place.
Her parents were simple folk.
Her father was a foreigner.

Topol

Topol (Fiddler on the Roof)
who became more American than the Americans...

Peter

Peter Griffin (Family Guy)

Her mother was a genteel Southern belle with a spine of steel.

Rowlands

Gena Rowlands (think of Mom from "Hope Floats")

And of course, there were men in her life. Three of them. There was one more, but he didn't mean anything...

Her first husband, That Man
greenquist01_header
Greenquist (Victor Pascow in "Pet Sematary - the guy that got run over)

The guy who helped her get over the disaster that was her first marriage, JL
Skaggs_small
Ricky Scaggs, seated (before he became a gospel guy)

Her second husband, the Darling Man

110976_0100

Dylan McDermott - not quite as studly as the real thing

Together, Darling Man and she came up with:

ZBoy, the most amazing child ever, and savior of her life.

Aang

Aang - the Last Avatar

Before, Sayre was just your average, everyday, somewhat-overweight single girl...

bridget jones6

totally intimidated by women she thought were more attractive than herself. With all of those women around, how could she possibly stand a chance of finding Mr. Right?

bridget jones4

She tried hard, but somehow always found herself in impossible situations wearing entirely inappropriate clothing...

bridget jones

She lacked seriously in the grace department,

bridget jones3

but was sincere in her search for beauty, truth and love.

bridget jones2

Thankfully, sincerity and a good heart pay off in the end.

Unfortunately, Darling Man gets up WAY before Sayre and so she rarely gets the opportunity to watch him sleep...

Yes, good casting choice to help you over a rough spot in the marriage world--good ole Ricky Skaggs--even though he's now gospel and not quite as handsome as Vince Gill. Thanks for representing all us Bridget Joneses.

Not Anthony Hopkins? Not Brian Dennehy? PETER GRIFFIN!

Sayre said...

Actually, I DID consider Brian Dennehy (but not Anthony Hopkins - you're not Hannibal Lecter enough), but looks wasn't the only thing I was going by - Topol's wisdom and efforts to do the right thing but willingness to bend for the ones he loved was a big factor. And Peter? That guy is probably EveryDad in this day and age. How could you not be, Dad, er, um "Anonymous"...

Awesomely cool movie - my favorite kind, where it's all happy in the end.

BTW, I love that woman's character in "Hope Floats." My daughter saw that when she was much younger, and used to imitate her saying, "Bad Dawg....BAD dawg!"
