What Angels do (after they've been cancelled)

Books, puzzles, drawing, sleeping... and back to TV. I'm feeling much better now and am planning to go back to work, at least for a few hours, on Friday. Until then, I have been filling my time with some pretty interesting and strange things.

Like this...

I was flipping around the channels yesterday and landed on Bravo somewhere late in the afternoon. At first it just looked like a bunch of people standing around cutting hair, but it didn't take me long to tumble to the fact that this is the Salon-version of American Idol, Hosted by none other than Jacklyn Smith, whose hairstyle, other than being slightly lighter, doesn't seem to have changed much from the Charlie's Angels days. I was sort of hoping that the big finale would be devising a new hairstyle for Jackie, but alas, it was not to be.

As it turns out, this was interesting TV. The hairstyles were wonderful and awful and endlessly fascinating to someone whose ability for doing hair ends at combing out the tangles after a shower. There were definitely PERSONALITIES doing battle here, which ended up being the undoing of two of the contestants.

Even Darling Man paused in his regular activities to see what it was that had me so engaged. We ate dinner and watched Daisy from Miami produced the most spectacular bridal hairstyle I've ever seen. After a while, DM got up and went to bed, but I watched season one to the bitter end where Anthony was crowned the Shear Genius, and Daisy went home to make well-deserved millions in her own little salon at the very end of Florida.

Yes, I had managed to see most of season one's reruns back to back yesterday - all leading up to the Season 2 Premiere at 10pm. By then, my eyelids were closing despite themselves so I set it up to be recorded, turned off the tv and fell asleep.

About half an hour later, an extremely violent thunderstorm rolled through town tossing trees around like legos and setting fire to at least one house. I woke up, looked out the window and sighed. The satellite would be out and my recording of Shear Genius kaput.

Hopefully there will be reruns later this week...

It's on Bravo. It'll be repeated about twenty times.

No sympathy on the TV thing from me. I'm heartless, I know. Glad you're on the mend. Don't overdue it at work tomorrow, thankfully the weekend is almost here.

I've never heard of that show before. When NLM starts his next class, I might try to locate it.

I'm addicted to the new show "Swingtown" and can't wait for each new episode each week. Speaking of which, there's one waiting for me on my Tivo right now...yay!

Sometimes I think it's more fun to wait for the whole season to be out so you can spend a day just imerging yourself. I'm glad you're resting a bit and gaining strength. :)

When i die this body shall not be buried. It will, rather, be salvaged for a wealth of titanium and steel. My mortal remains will be disposed of at Coastal Scrap Metals.
