Award! For Me! and a Tag! Hurray!

Okay, yes... I love getting awards. I will probably (okay, definitely) never stand in front of a glitzy crowd full of cleavage and cumberbunds waving a gold-tone statuette and crying "You like me! You really like me!" but I still can't help but jump up and down a little and clap my hands when an award lands on my blog - especially from someone I enjoy reading so much myself! So rather than thanking the Academy or my mother, I'd like to thank Karisma for thinking of me.

And in addition to this award, she's tagged me with an Alphabet Tag. Here goes:

Attached or single? Attached (married 13.5 years)

Best friend? I'd have to say my Mom. She's the first one I think to call when something happens or I need a shoulder to cry on.

Cake or Pie? Devil's Food Cake and Lemon Meringe Pie (see how I got around that???)

Day of Choice? Sunday. There's tai chi in the morning and a big newspaper with coffee.

Essential Item? Reading glasses.

Favorite color? Blue

Gummy bears or worms? NEITHER! I hate gummy candy with a passion.

Hometown? Same place I live now. One day it will be somewhere else.

Indulgence? Sleeping in as long as I can. Closely followed by a reiki session.

January or July? January. I hate the heat.

Kids? Yes. One star in my universe.

Life isn't complete.... without a cat.

Marriage Date? The same as my son's birthday! And graduations around here. We don't plan well for events that need hotel rooms for people...

Number of Brothers and Sisters? 5 younger brothers

Oranges or Apples? Apples. Definitely apples.

Phobias? Things that spin (ceiling fans, propellers, wheels, merry-go-rounds...)

Quote? "No matter how many times you save the world, it always manages to get back in jeopardy again. Sometimes I just want it to stay saved, you know?" Mr. Incredible in The Incredibles

Reasons to Smile? Number one reason is my boy. Number two is my husband. Numbers three through 7 are my cats and dog. What else do you really need?

Season of Choice? Fall. It's SUCH a relief when summer is over!

Tag Seven People? Sandy, Michelle, Mindy/Jenny, Margaret/Stephanie, HoosierGirl, Nikki, and finally, Liane! ALL of you get the Brilliante WebBlog Award - and we get to hear a little more about you. I can't wait!!!!

Unknown Fact? Um. Unknown. To whom? If it's to me - well, I can't answer this. If it's to you - let me think... I absolutely loved the TV series "Call to Glory" and "Touched by an Angel"

Vegetable? Yellow squash

Worst habits? Biting nails, scratching (which wouldn't seem to go together...)

XRay or Ultrasound? Ultrasound, definitely. Followed by MRI.

Your favorite food? Fried chicken. Hmmm... what's for dinner?

Zodiac sign? Aries - the ram, and in the Chinese zodiac, I'm a Tiger.

So... you any the wiser?

I'd vote ultrasound too. Unless it's vagina ultrasound. Those are never fun.

Ha ha, Sayre, biting your nails is disgusting, now STOP IT! Wow as much alike as we are we are total opposites in a lot of ways! Psst I can give you a Reiki when we finally meet in person! This is something I am actually quite good at!

Now how do cook yellow squash? Our of all the vegies I find that one is the most tasteless!

Lujetter's yellow squash recipe--it was yummy, and very flavorful.
Sliced yellow squash (halve fat slices so all are almost the same size);
Sliced green onions, including the tops.
Melt butter in frying pan. fast fry squash and onions.
Quickly sprinkle in salt, pepper and 1/2 teaspoon sugar. Give it a quick stir. Add 1T water and cover quickly. Lower heat and steam until squash is crisp/tender. Enjoy.

"You like me, you really like me!" I am so excited to receive this award. I would like to thank all the little people, who made me what I am today.......

I think I'm getting carried away.
I'll calm down now. Thank you for the award. I will do mine tomorrow.

Hugs,
J.

Ok girl- I don't have an official blogger page or name, but I my first thought when I read your blog today is that I would happily set up a room full of cleavage and cumberbunds and we'll give you an award too.
Also- love the pic of your little man when he was little-er. Still can tell it's him in the eyes.
Now- let's get your ass on facebook- I just joined this week after some cajolling.
I'll just see if you can guess who this is (clue: meaty) :)
