So excited!

I had lunch with SWAMPY today!

She and AnodeMan were passing through on their way back west and lunch time would hit just about the time they hit town, so I suggested a nice little seafood restaurant right off the interstate.

These are not interstate people, but they did jump on just long enough to get to where I was going to be. When it was all over, they jumped on for one more exit before driving off into the wilds of Highway 20.

The Sunshine State wasn't very sunshine-y for them. It was grey and drizzly but at least it was fairly warm (61). It was, however, pretty good driving weather.

I was a bit late meeting them (thank goodness they went ahead and ordered). I was enjoying my hot shower a little too much because of a sore shoulder, then I had to put on some eyebrows and mascara before going out. I did show up with wet hair...

Then there was the church traffic. There is not a major road in town that doesn't get shut down so that the holier-than-us people can get out of their church parking lots. The police stand out there and stop traffic in every direction, then the lines for the traffic lights are really long because of all the church people. I rarely go out on Sundays, mostly because of this, but then so much time will pass when I don't go out that I forget why it is that I don't go out on Sundays until I'm caught in this bizarro traffic - and then I remember.

Swampy and AnodeMan had aready gotten their food when I arrived. I ordered broiled shrimp and cheese grits and then we got down to talking. In case you haven't realized it yet, these are really interesting people! I'm not sure how long we sat there chatting, but eventually the dogs needed to be let out and walked around before they hit the road again.

AnodeMan went out to walk the dogs a bit and Swampy and I were still talking when my phone rang. Darling Man was giving me an out in case things were getting "too weird". I laughed and said everything was fine; I would be home soon since they needed to get back on the road.

"Afraid we were going to kidnap you?" Swampy asked. Yeah...

Actually, this is my first time meeting a fellow blogger. There was a close call last summer when HoosierGirl and Steven might have a load heading my way, but that never happened, so we didn't get to meet. Swampy was my first. It's funny, but I've grown quite attached to a lot of you regular visitors. I feel like I know you. Sitting down to lunch with Swampy and AnodeMan was almost like visiting family you never met. A little awkward at first, but warming rapidly. I even found myself doing voices for them (yes, I know - that's a little weird).

As if you didn't know, Swampy is absolutely beautiful. Not just outside, but all the way through. And AnodeMan didn't display any particularly quirky behavior but was quite engaging and interesting to talk to. (Swampy may have wagged her finger at him before I arrived and told him to behave...).

Here's proof positive:

Me, Bubba, JuneBug and Swampy

I got to meet Bubba and JuneBug and stand next to the impressive Hummer. AnodeMan did the honors. Quick hugs and glad-we-mets, and they were on their way to the next stop on their journey.

Thanks Swampy & AnodeMan for stopping by!!!! You can be sure that the next time I head your way, I'll be stopping in to see you!

That was fun! Thanks for taking part of your Sunday to visit. Hope you weren't too "weirded" out.

Absolutely! I wasn't weirded out at all, but Darling Man definitely thought this was a strange thing to do. Ironically, all the church traffic was GONE when I went home. Pictures to come this evening after I get my boy back and my errands done!

That is so nice, I follow swampy's blog and enjoy her writing. They do seem like very nice down to earth people. But then again so do most of the other bloggers I have met in bloggy world. That includes you too. See you on FM

Oh, I am so jealous - I would love to meet Swampy (she is a lovely lady, isn't she?) Maybe, she and AnodeMan will have a reason to come to DC some day and come hell or high water, I would find a way to meet them. So glad you had a wonderful visit. I have met only one blogger - I too had a way out if needed, but didn't need it ! I would love to meet some more.

See me? I'm jealous. Stinking jealous. On both parts. Because YOU got to meet SWAMPY and because SWAMPY got to meet YOU! Why does Michigan always have to be off of everyone's travel paths?
