Fun Monday - my life on celuloid

Ari's looking out Beyond her Slab today and hosting this week's Fun Monday! So for my 1001st post, I will answer her question:

If you could click your heels three times, and change lives with any character from any film, who would it be and why?

HELEN PAAR - THE INCREDIBLES

Meet me.... Helen Paar. Also known as Elastigirl. I'm a mom, a wife and a superhero all rolled into one. I can bend but not break. I can be here AND there. And if you're a mom, you know exactly what I mean. I relate oh, so much to Helen, trying to raise my family, keep my husband happy, and save the world all at the same time. Helen is the ultimate juggler. Most days, I want to be Elastigirl, and on rare occasions - I am Elastigirl!

JANE CRAIG - BROADCAST NEWS

Meet me... Jane. I work in the high pressure world of broadcast news production. I have to deal with geeky, smart guys and air-head bimbo guys on a daily basis and be a professional about it. I am driven to succeed but only in the most ethical way possible. I will not lower my standards just so that I can get ahead. As you can imagine, my life is incredibly stressful and I start each day with a crying jag so I can get it out of the way and get on with my day. Yes, I am that organized.

DORINDA DURSTON - ALWAYS

Meet me... Dorinda Durston. I love airplanes. I work behind the scenes and nothing would happen without me - but I don't get the glory. The hotshots do. But that's okay with me. I am passionate about what I do, the man I love, and my friends. And even when I think the story's over, I realize that I can change the ending. I am a hopeless romantic.

BARB - LITTLE BLACK BOOK

Meet me... I'm Barb. It's an appropriate name, actually. I am incredibly sharp. I am manipulative. I get what I want at whatever cost. But somehow, it turns out for the best anyway. I am a drama queen, in the middle of everything and everyone's business. The picture above is a perfect depiction of me. I am like a vulture, circling every carcass.
Actually, that last one is not me, nor any character I'd like to be, but I love watching this character do her thing.
You may have noticed that EVERY SINGLE ONE of these big-screen roles are portrayed by Holly Hunter. This was not planned, but even with all the thought I put into this, the only ones that popped into my mind were Holly Hunter ones! She always plays such strong characters and I supppose that is her appeal to me - I want to be a strong character too!

You ARE ElasticGirl, thats the only way you could get to be all those characters.

Ther is a little bit of ElasticGirl in all moms.

I admit to thinking for brief moments that I am like Grace (played by Holly Hunter), the boozy, gutsy, adultress cop in the television series, "Saving Grace."

Fun! I like Holly Hunter's performances, too.

From now on I will picture you hunched like a vulture on your kitchen counter, contemplating your next kill. Of course, this is only when you're at home. I'm sure your work frowns on perching on your desk.

Wow!! What a cool assortment of characters! I am ashamed to say I haven't seen any of those movies but now I want to! Heehee, LOVING the line about the Broadcast News lady who dealt with geeks and himbos daily, while staying professional...great!

And re. your comment on my post - yeah, I was also frustrated that Padme's insight and intelligence did not seem to extend to Anakin...and the heartbreak was what killed her. I know it was a necessary plot point, since they had to get Luke and Leia into the picture but get rid of any characters that did not go on to Episodes 4, 5 and 6 but I think they did Padme a disservice. Happy belated FM to you!
