Fun Monday - Getting to Know You (and Me)

Mariposa is hosting Fun Monday this week, and wants answers!!!!

(1) Share something which you wish your readers would know about you. It could be something you feel you might need to clarify/ share, etc.

I think SayreSmiles is a pretty open book... Pretty much anything worth knowing about me can be found here. I come from a big family. I've been married twice - the first time much too young and the second for good. I waited until I was 37 to have a child, who is the light of my life and my reason for living. That said, he does not run my life; he's just the reason I want to stick around as long as possible. At 47, I have an older body and an older mindset, but a younger spirit. I'm still trying to decide what I want to do when I grow up. And somehow, my mind does not accept the limitations of time.

(2) Ask three questions to your readers, and I mean all readers, whether participants of Fun Monday or not. The questions should be generic so that all your readers can answer them and that it will help you get to know your readers more.

Question #1: What would you say was the BEST part of your teenaged years?

Question #2: What do you hope for in the next decade?

Question #3: Would you retire if you could - and what would you do with your time?

Go visit Mariposa to find other questions and answers!

Love your comment about being a younger spirit in an older body. I know that feeling exactly.

best teen memory? singing in chorus

hope for next decade? stay healthy and able to live independently.

retire? I'm there and do as I please except for caregiving responsibilities with my sister--an ongoing worry and concern

1. Best teen memory...going to teen center with my friends and dance contest.
2. Hope for the next decade...stay healthy
3. I too am retired...lots of free time. I love to stay busy and help with the grandkids...I love my life.
I also feel like a younger spirit in an older body...but when I look in the mirror reality sets in. It's a hard thing to grow old gracefully...its all about acceptance.

Sayre, love your post! And I will remember your post when I get to be a Mom!

Here goes my answers-
1. I was engaged in lots of non-academic activities, such as environmental projects and other youth activities.
2. I want to have my family! (I mean start my own...)
3. YES! In fact I'm trying to exit the industry in the next 3-5 years. Hopefully that will give me time to do crafts, bake and garden.

Thanks for playing...wish you a great week ahead!

1. We practically lived at church and it was like home and family-choir, handbells, youth group. I felt loved and cherished.

2. Ten years? I hope to have my novel published and that it will be a bestseller and I will have a contract for more. I would also like to be retired from my current job, but the economy has messed up some of our retirement account, so it might have to wait until fifteen years. I hope I have daughters in law who I love and who love me, grandchildren I adore, and good health to enjoy them all.

3. yes, I want to retire and it will be eternal weekend! Travel all over the country in a travel trailer and on a motorcycle, ride the Pacific coastline on a motorcycle, take my grandkids camping (the ones I am sure my boys will give me), ride horses, fuse glass, garden, kayak...oh how I dream of it!

Thanks for asking! How about you?

Now that it's almost next Monday, I can get caught up.
1: The best part of my teenage years was having them come to an end, honestly. My 20s were much more fun!
2: In the next decade I hope to get the chance to travel more. I love seeing different places.
3: If I could retire now... if I had unlimited money, sure. Go do my travelling and writing and whatever I want. But since I don't have unlimited money, I guess I'll be hanging in at work until they drag me out.
