Fun Monday - Shoes

Thom is hosting this week's Fun Monday from a tropical paradise:
Imelda Marcos apparently loved them. I despise them. We all have to use them. Shoes. What would we do without them? So please tell us about your shoes and pictures are encouraged.

Like Thom, I am not overly fond of shoes. My feet are a funny shape (think of a duck) and the people who make cute shoes just don't allow for people who have toes or feet wider at the toe end than on the heel end. So most of my life, I didn't wear shoes unless absolutely necessary (which I'm sure helped my feet get narrower **smirk**).

To this day, I alternate between two pairs of shoes:

Beloved Crocs. I've actually worn the soles smooth, so I need to get another pair. It's tricky when the floor's wet - I've slipped several times wearing these. Treads will help...

My Nike Pegasus shoes with special inserts. SO comfortable. My training shoes and everyday wear shoes. I have now worn them out. Wondering if I can just replace the inserts as the outside doesn't show much wear at all...

And finally, my still-in-the-box Asics Gels. These shoes are like wearing a cloud on your feet. I've been saving them for when I actually start running, which may be a while due to my recurring Achilles tendonitis. Maybe if I wore these, the tendonitis wouldn't be so bad?

I'll check it out with the doctor tomorrow...

Anyway, these are the shoes I wear. I have one pair for wearing with fancy dresses (worn last at a funeral around Thanksgiving). They are not everyday and they barely made it through the hour service either. At the reception afterwards, I discreetly removed them and tucked them under the couch until it was time to leave.

To see what the other participants wear on their feet, visit Thom. and don't forget to check in with Debs to see what's up next week! If you're ever lost for Fun Monday, I always list the host and topic in my sidebar!

Your footwear isn't much different than mine. Comfort all the way.

LOL...atta girl. I'm glad you have the same opinion as I do about shoes LOL. All I need is the basics and that's enough. I do hope your Achilles tendonitis gets better. Maybe those shoes in the box will get some use then :) Thanks for playing :) Have a great week ahead :)

I'm hoping to find the time to post our last month's travels.

Keeping it simple...really when you think about it...how many shoes do we really need. I have about 12 pair, but only really wear a handful of them.

My favorite pair of shoes are my Crocs too! They certainly are the most comfy and easy to slip on shoe. I will have my post up later today.

I would live with those shoes too, but I need shoes for the city nobody goes around here in sneakers except the teenagers. But I never wear high heals !

I'm going to have to check out Crocs. Everyone seems to swear by their comfort factor! I have foot issues and even my beloved Birkenstocks don't cut it anymore. And as you know, athletic shoes are comfy but not exactly appropriate attire at all times. ;)
