First Day of Truth

A while ago, I came across this idea on my friend Flutter's blog. An interesting and introspective writing exercise that may wind up revealing more of myself than I even know.

Day One: Something you hate about yourself.

Sad to say, there are so many things...

I hate what has happened to my body. It is not as healthy as it could and should be because I love food that is bad for you and hate exercise that is good for you. I am trying to rectify that, but it is such a struggle.

I hate that I stopped learning for the joy of learning so long ago. My brain has rusted and learning new things now is so hard! I continue to try to oil my brain, but I miss those days of effortless absorbtion.

I hate that I get angry so easily. I am impatient with animals and people that I love. I try to hide it behind a placid face wearing a slight smile, but inside I can feel my blood boiling and a toxic cloud spreading throughout my body.

These are the things that spring to mind immediately. I am working on these things as best I can and I can see some improvement in all of them - but I really hate that I have to do this work at all. I want to be calm, content, fit, healthy and knowledgeable naturally.

But it is not to be.

If you want to participate, here is the list of writing assignments. They don't have to be done every single day, but do write them in order.

Day 01 → Something you hate about yourself.
Day 02 → Something you love about yourself.
Day 03 → Something you have to forgive yourself for.

I hate that all the new things to learn involve a computer! Computers are difficult to understand.

I looked over the list... I am not emotionally healthy enough to participate.

If I can find the inner strength to do this, I'd like to...some of it would be pretty tough, though...hmmm.....
