It's OVER!!!!

Today was the last day of Hurricane Season 2006! Hurray! The only storm was Alberto and that was nothing but some rain... and not much of that either. But will the home insurance rates go down in Florida? I'm not betting on it.

mind you that is nothing really, most of our winter will be spent in -35 degrees C or colder.....now you know why in Florida you get all of us ..snowbirds.

Don't hold your breath! The insurance tangle is very complex and involves "Florida Only" subsidiaries of large companies so that, if things go very badly they can go bankrupt. We are all paying for the wealthy folks who have coastal cottages, by a levy on all homeowners insurance policies. There are construction codes that beg roofs to be blown off--and oh yes, one summer doesn't make a lack of hurricanes permanent--the insurance companies even figured one of these into their projections.
