Ah. The first day of spring break! Z-boy started it off right with a trip to the dentist. On his last (and first) visit, we discovered that he had three cavities. So today, he went back to get them filled.
I was sitting in the waiting room along with a couple and a single woman. We were watching "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire" and playing along when we heard this long, high-pitched, eerie scream. The dad freaked. He jumped up and asked the room, "Was that mine? Was that MINE?"
I looked up at him and calmly said, "No. That was mine. Bet he'll be better about brushing his teeth from now on!" Dad looked at me like I was crazy and went back to check on things. He came back out looking much calmer and said, "You were right. It was yours."
When Z-boy came out, I asked him about it. Turns out that he asked not to have the nitrous oxide (laughing gas) because he didn't like the smell of it. The first shot of novacaine was a bit of a shock, I think. However, he sucked it up and took it like a man after that first shot and was very proud of himself. He also saved me a few bucks by being so brave (or foolish).

And speaking of foolish....
I was doing about 45 down the highway and the car in the lane next to me was too (that's the speed limit) and we were running pretty even with each other. Out of nowhere came this idiot on the motorcycle and he went BETWEEN us down the line in the middle! It drives me crazy when people take stupid chances like that. He could have cost me, my son, the lady in the other car and himself injury, life, or body work with a stunt like that. And to top it all off, he took that crazy chance just so he could stop at the next stoplight.... right in front of me.

Z-boy has been sporting quite the mop-top for a while. So today, we went for haircuts.
Isn't he beautiful???? But the hair was getting to be a bit much - especially since he hates washing it and doesn't ever comb it.
First, the cut. You should have seen the mountain of hair he left behind.
Then she washed him. At first the water was a little too hot. Then he got all relaxed.
He spotted the hairdryers and asked what those "helmets over there" were for. So she put him under and turned it on. It warmed up quickly and while she was washing my hair, Z-boy yelled, "Is EVERYTHING in this place too HOT???" She went and turned it down a bit and Z sat there under the "helmet" for my whole haircut.
I gave him the camera, and he proceeded to take lots of pictures... mostly of himself.
Photogenic, don't you think???
He also took a couple of pictures that WEREN'T himself...
Actually, I think he's got a pretty good eye. I was quite impressed by the empty chairs shot.
I wonder - do I have a budding photographer on my hands?

I could sure use a Z-boy style haircut right about now myself.
Steve~
Z-boy is hillarious! Thanks Z-boy for the photos :) LOL.
I think you just may have a photgrapher on your hands. Hey, now you know what to save up for, for next Christmas!
I hate to say it, but...
He looks like me at that age. Almost exactly.
That's the family gene for ya.
He turned DOWN the gas?!! Woops!
(I guess let's hope he turns it down in high school and college too - no whip its for Z-boy!)
Love love love the pics! Especially the cross-eyed crazy look at my handsome self!
spring has sprung its hair cut time!!!!
I have one of those boys. A comb is a foreign object hence the crew type cut for many years.
I think it is some kind of right of passage or puberty that they have to go through before the comb no longer feels alien. Oh yea, it is called GIRLS!!!!
Stef
Oh my gosh he is so adorable.
Where do you live? Can I come visit? He reminds me so much of my 7 yr. old, Aaron. Did you ever see the post I did when he took all those silly pics of himself, just like the ones Z-boy took? Really funny.
Thanks for all your kind comments on my blog. I'm getting by.
J.
They always look so sassy after a haircut!
(I'm spending my whole morning catching up with you and Z-boy--can you tell?)
