I've been taking pictures, but because of the move, my USB is in a box... somewhere. I've looked and looked for it, but still haven't found it. So a couple of days ago, I finally went and bought a new cable so I could download some pictures.
So briefly, some updates:
Wonderful birthday party for Z-boy! I didn't do the circus cake (too much chaos from moving), so went to the grocery store for one. All they had was "Congratulations Grad" cakes. So I bought some figurines and made my own cake. I think it turned out pretty well.
And Uncle Matt came up with the BESTEST birthday present ever!
Darling Man and Z-Boy tested for their next belts on Cinco de Mayo. I was unable to as I'd fallen on my knees hard and was barely walking at that point. Both guys worked very hard, and walked away with their new belts!
Z-boy was especially proud to earn his orange belt. That achievement seems to have lit a fire under him. He's more focused and practices more and is actually WORKING toward his next belt!
There was also the second-grade program "Lemonade". Z-boy was in the chorus (one of the yellow-shirt people), but took his role very seriously. He'd been singing and dancing his part of the show for weeks before the performance and did quite well. I remember his kindergarden program - where he totally chickened out and sat in the audience. Boy, have things changed!
And finally, we have not escaped the smoke from the Buggaboo fire in the Okeefenokee Swamp, plus there are several fires closer to home. Outdoor living is pretty limited until things clear out. But this picture in a parking lot makes it look like we live in the Smokey Mountains!
