Ever have one of those days? And it just happens to occur on the same day as everyone else's?
The phone rang at 5:30 this morning. Our sign-on operator had locked herself out of her car and couldn't get to work on time. So Darling Man pulled on some clothes and went to man the station.
ZBoy and I had a pleasant, easy morning. Josh's dad called to say he'd be dropping Josh off to ride to camp with us in about 10 minutes. That was good, because I'd left ZBoy's lunch at work and would have to swing by there to pick it up before dropping them off.
While waiting for Josh to arrive, I decided to put everything else we needed for the day into the car... and discovered that my keys were missing - while Darling Man's were sitting right there. Which is fine for him - but I only have one key to my car and it was at work with DM. Crap.
So I called work as DM was calling me, having realized that he had my keys. I told him that as long as he was coming back home to grab ZBoy's lunch out of the fridge so I wouldn't have to make that stop on the now-we're-gonna-be-late trip to camp.
I'd just hung up with DM when Josh's mom called. She'd forgotten some papers she needed for the doctor's office and had to turn around and go back home to get them and was running late. Would 20 minutes still work? "Oh, sure!" I said, and told her what all else was happening.
Darling Man pulled up about 10 minutes later, lunch and keys in hand. He'd just walked in the door when Josh and company pulled into the driveway. I piled everyone in, kissed DM goodbye and we took off.
Today was fieldtrip day and we couldn't be too late or they'd leave without the boys.
We just made it.
I hope the rest of the day is much more relaxed than the first part!!!!

"We just made it."
The most important line! Hope your day gets easier, hon.
Ummm....haven't really had that kind of day because, well, it's really just me. I mean, my cat isn't going to swipe the wrong keys when she goes to visit the Persian next door or anything. hee..hee...
Sounds like a harrowing morning. Hope it's better now. :)

Sounds like the average day in my house! :-)
