She's back! A week long vacation was way too long for me - I missed her so much and spent most of her absence in bed sleeping alone with dreams too bland to even be remembered.
But I found her again today, sitting on my desk, hidden under an unruly pile of paper. Six little cards that are my muse.
When I got home from work today, we crawled into bed with a notebook, my keyboard and fresh index cards for sketching out a story arc for each of my six cards of character. And banged out 1669 words in the space of an hour.
Now, if only I can do that for seven more hours, I'll be all caught up!
I had been feeling so depressed, my story had left me and I thought I might have to give up on NaNoWriMo for this year. I may still not make it, but at least I've got a fighting chance now.
Hurray! My muse is back!
UPDATE: The NaNoWriMo site is overloaded and won't let me access it, so I can't update my wordcount there just yet. But I cranked out 3326 words last night before I had to sleep, bringing my total up to 6705. I still need 11,632 to be caught up to where I need to be at the end of the day, which I can tell you isn't going to happen, but once DM shows up and takes noisy, busy boys away, I can make some serious headway towards chopping that catch-up number down.

It's surprising where our inspiration comes from...who knows what triggered "her" return, but you made her feel welcome and with luck she'll make her visit a long while
Hooray!!!!!!
just keep writing.. just keep writing..just keep writing.. (hee..hee.. ala' Dorrie style encouragement)
It is exciting to be in the project, though, isn't it? I long to be as far along as you with mine!
