Fun Monday - A Free Week

I'm hosting Fun Monday this week, and I want to know:

If you had a WEEK with no obligation and money was no object, what would you do with it?

Hmmm... Well, this IS my fantasy, so let's get down to business, shall we?

Actually, that is the first thing I would do. Business. I would pay off all my debts (credit cards, mortgage, cars, family, etc), make savings accounts for my son and granddaughter and a retirement fund for my husband and me. I'd set a bit aside to help out other people, and make a donation to a few non-profit charities.

Then I would go shopping online (I hate stores) with overnight delivery of clothes, shoes, and luggage.

After I got off the computer, I'd call contractors and have them do work on my house for the next week. New wiring, new flooring, an expansion of my kitchen and family room, new kitchen appliances and all work done with materials and to my specifications. A couple of windows added in the stairwell.

Then I'd leave the contractors to do their thing while I flew off to England and Wales on the Concord (my fantasy, so it would still be flying) for a week of visiting family and hiking around in the Snowdonia National Park (click to enlarge).

They would be day hikes because my family's sheep farm is just outside the park near Llanbedr and I would go stay there at night and write in front of the fire with a cup of tea.

Glyn Artro

This is the main house, but there is a smaller bungalow on the property that would suit me just fine. It's perfect for one person. After a week of hiking, visiting family and writing, I would head back home to my newly renovated house and my debtless new life and rejoin my husband and son who were also off having THEIR own fantasy week!

Now go visit the rest of the participants and see what their fantasy weeks would look like!

Nice one!!! This is going to be surreal I think to participate in but I'm definitely going all out (going to write mine in a moment).

Concorde isn't in operation anymore though :(

Isn't it nice to dream ??

A nice dream...I too would pay off all debts, then perhaps go to the British Isles.

That sounds like absolute Heaven! I especially like the part about coming home to a remodeled house and no debt. Very nice indeed.

I'd quit my job and become a full time artist. Complete with a studio makeover.

Thanks for doing this, Sayre! I did not get my act together in time, but it sounds like you planned a fabulous week!

Well, I sure do admire a gal who knows how to cover all bases when she's in charge! I aimed too low with my one little trip--talk about missed opportunities. And while you're wishing, don't you also want to pilot the Concorde? How long since you've been back to visit family in England/Wales?

yeah, I'd make a huge deposit in the bank account, buy a beach house, a new car and enroll the girls in private school and then buy a restaurant. I'd totally shop for all my furniture online and get us all a new wardrobe while I was at it. Fun fun.

Okay, mine is FINALLY up. It's amazing how similar ours are, although yours is more nicely-written.

Woops! I read your post first and then forgot to say hi. Its taken me a couple of days to get around and I am amazed at how much everyone is planning on doing in just one week! Im surprised you did not all ask for superpowers first! LOL.

Anyway, I would just buy myself one of those winnebago vans so I could be on my merry way. Buy some gas cards so I don't run out once the week is up and maybe some gift cards too for the supermarket so we could eat. Thats all. I would be very happy with that! Oh of course I would give my girls enough money in their accounts so they could buy a house each or buy a van so they can follow us.

LOL I guess the more you think about it the more you want to help others too. But for myself, I would be happy with that house on wheels!
