Two words that seem to be describing me these days. I haven't been writing. Or cleaning. Or doing laundry.
The only thing I've been doing other than work is cleaning the pool. There's something kind of zen about vaccuming the bottom of a pool you can't see.
We've been having an algae problem and while lots of it is on the bottom, there's plenty suspended in the water too. The pool is in the shade and gets very little light, which is contributing to the problem.
I've been spending about two hours every day staring into murky water and letting my mind go blank while making back and forth vacuuming motions with a brush attached to a hose. It's kind of like navel gazing without a point.
A couple of days ago, I bought this "bug" (on clearance - $70 off!). It's an automated vacuum that wanders around the bottom of the pool and sucks up stuff on the bottom. It's time for me to get back to my life and to stop staring at nothing while supposedly accomplishing something.

Sounds like you have the summer blahs...the heat makes you feel like doing nothing at all! I am the same way...just feel like sitting all day! Hard to get motivated to do anything.
welcome to my world. hard to get focused any time of the day.
our neighbors have one of those "bugs" and it freaks me out when I play in their pool!
Hope the "bug" does the trick for you and the pool. I can't believe it is near the end of July already. Summer will soon be over. Sigh.
I understand completely. I had a couple of days like that. I was in a funk over missing Joseph/sending Rachael off to college. I DID actually do housework today.
