Darling Man was doing so well that he came home from the hospital two days earlier than anticipated. His early departure threw off a few things like me getting the house ready and setting up physical therapy appointments. He did get the knee machine the same day though, so he's been working on getting his knee to bend all on his own. He also gets up and walks around a little with the help of a walker and a special brace, but has to keep that to a minimum until the skin has healed a bit more and the muscles start knitting back together again.
He'a a man of action - staying still and in one place is about the hardest thing for him to do. Luckily, he's got lots of company to help him pass the time.

Tottie's not much of a snuggler, but she likes to be close at hand. Yoda, however, likes to be right on you, getting right up in your face and lying on your neck if possible.
Even French has been spending lots of time snoozing next to Darling Man. This is a true event, as French would rather be outside than anywhere else unless he's eating. Misha has been taking up space at the foot of the bed almost constantly since he got home. She's not big on snuggling either, but she does stay close and purrs to keep you company.
The cat's aren't the only ones lending a hand towards a speedy recovery. My friend Jennifer has bestowed amazing meals on us when I'm so tired I can't see straight. Mexican Lasagne, Red Pepper Spinach, Lemonade Icebox Pie, Chili Pie with Cilantro infused Sour Cream, Italian Chicken and Crusty Noodles... If Darling Man wasn't laying in bed with a giant set of staples in his leg, he'd think he was in heaven. Jennifer is a whiz in the kitchen!
My mom is also a kitchen wizard. She and Dad appeared on my doorstep with a pot of red beans and rice with sausage and corn casserole - finishing with a peach cobbler that set off the drool as soon as it entered the house.
We are, sadly, moving beyond the need for such help. I actually made it to the grocery store late this week, so we have other food that I have to cook in the house now. My own cooking isn't nearly as spectacular as Jennifer's and Mom's, but it will have to do. I'm thinking crock-pot roast with mashed potatoes and broccoli for Sunday night.
Darling Man's healing nicely and I'm on the road to recovery too.
