Gary Sinise falls on hard times...
Luckily for me, he's found work as a plummer!
(Okay... It's not Gary, and you can't really tell from this picture because he got all shy on me and ducked his head, but he really DOES look a lot like him.)
Two of our old house blues are being taken care of today. The spewing drain pipe for the washer has been thoroughly routed out (yay! I can wear clean underwear again!). That took awhile - apparently it was a really long pipe with lots of branches.
So here's the view from the downstairs bathroom. "Gary" pulled the overflow cover off and discovered that there was no gasket, which would explain the waterfall in the downstairs bathroom when Z-boy was making waves in the tub upstairs. He replaced the gasket, but in the process the pipe separated at the threads of the bend closest to the ceiling. And when I ran the water to test the overflow, I heard panicked "STOP! STOP!" from downstairs. He's working on it now and not having a whole lot of fun with it either.
Maybe he'll have more fun with this. He spotted it in my kitchen and asked about it, saying that his kids would love something like that. It's by Frigates, but I couldn't remember where my husband got it. Lucky my husband got back home from his bike ride while "Gary" was still here and could tell him. It's really, really cool. The goal is to get the marble from the top to the bottom using these pieces. Very neat. I think I know what someone's getting for Christmas!!!!!
