Spend the Night, Part 2

Did I say that I didn't envy my friend her daughter?????

The boys finally went to bed around 11 last night. I curled up in my bed (hubby out of town) with my book, which never got opened. At 6am (that's right, 6am!), I hear them... little rats running up and down the halls... no, wait. Those are boy feet! You have GOT to be kidding me.

So I stagger out of bed (hubby made it home from his trip around 3am) and go into my son's room to quiet them. They obligingly played Legos semi-quietly while I dozed on my son's bed. When my husband appeared in the doorway somewhere around 7am, all bets were off and my day became wall to wall noise. Dear Man took off shortly thereafter to go to work. Leaving me here. With them.

It was war!

But I had them on the run!

When I had them beaten back, things got quiet and I took this truce-time to log on. But it was too quiet. I went to check on the status of the soldiers.
IMG_0955 Uh-oh. This doesn't look good.

Come out, come out!

His mother is going to KILL me!

Ohmigosh, this is a story these boys are going to hear for the rest of their lives! Anytime they get together, it'll get tossed into the mix at some point during the day! It truly is an adventure!

he he he... They probably did it with safety scissors too... Those things won't cut dirt but they cut hair just fine. I did this once too as a child. I cut a big lock of my own hair and a big section of the cat's hair and a couple of her whiskers (she didn't let me come near for a while).

Guilty, too. Only I did it to my bangs and spent much of kindergarten without any bangs to speak of. uuugly.

Don't worry Sayre- I have a feeling she'll have a giggle. Hair grows back. If he cut off a limb, it'd be a different story- at least until nanotechnology becomes as commonplace as bandaids. :)

I am still alive. After her night with the "girls", I think it was a relief to have some kind of regular boy stuff happen. She thought it was hilarious when Z-boy cut his own hair... still funny when he did it to her son.

Whew!

You are lucky she is so understanding.LOL

It's either that, or the girls wore her down. LOL

OK. I'm not a mom, but I want to join in on the slumber party! I'm good at getting my hair cut at all angles! Hee hee. I'm the aunt who lets kids eat chocolate for breakfast and make cookies and watch movies and play tag and go shopping at toy stores and play board games all night. Then they return exhausted to their parents because I ran them around so much. :) My friend Amanda was like that- I was 23, she was 10 and my boss's little girl who followed me around on my wedding day and we'd hang out once in a while. I lost contact with her a few years ago. Gosh- she's 22 or 23 years old now. I wonder how she's doing.

My biological clock isn't ticking but man I love kids with all their imagination and unconditional love and ability to soak in love back.

Oops! Maybe he's making some sort of fashion statement. You could always offer to do the whole head for free!

YOu know, you'd feel a lot better if you had some chocolate chip cookies!

It could have been worse..I remember my male cousin and his friend getting into mischief one time and it wasn't trimming of their hair..
They decided to use his mother's Nair and remove all the hairs off their legs and then they proceeded to test how much liquid tampons hold and if they floated in a sink full of water or not etc etc etc.
My cousin still have very hairy legs.

My update for tomorrow will not be as cheery as last week. Didn't have cookies... I had ice cream!!!!

Quinn, I used to shave my brother's back (body builder). Always made me feel like I was going to get in trouble...
