Just Fishing Friday

My boy was tardy today.  These last couple of weeks...  It's been crazy and busy and exhausting.  We're all falling into bed with lights out before 10pm and sleeping hard until the last minute we have to get up.  So while we got up in a timely manner today, we just couldn't pull ourselves together in time to... well, be on time.

Darling Man headed off to work and I drove the Boy to school.  As we sat at a long light the Boy said "I wish we had teleporter technology NOW.  It would make getting to school so much easier."

I ran with it.

"What if the homeroom teacher had a button and when he pressed it at the time you were supposed to be at school, you all would appear in your chairs.  Of course, you'd have to actually be ready when he pushed it.  Can you imagine landing in your seat still in your jammies, brushing your teeth or eating breakfast?"

He started laughing.  What a great way to start the day!

That is a great way to start the day. Especially one that starts out rushed. All too often, I rush the kids out the door, nagging and yelling about being late the whole time, and then after I drop them off, I think "what a terrible way to start the day" - I love this post. It will serve as a reminder the next time we are running late.

haha - good way to think about being teleported!

And my house has seen the exact same scenario. I feel so unorganized right now. I've been running around crazy all day and not getting anything truly done.

I wonder if this teleport would work to go back in time too.

I would use it to have a few words with myself about 16 years ago - maybe I would have made some better choices had i known some things then that I do now :)
