Last year, some of my blog buddies participated in a First of the Month picture meme, in which you take a picture of the same thing on the first of each month. It's a good way to see how the seasons change, how something grows... or how someone changes. One person chronicled the growth of her grandchildren. Another took pictures of the skies above her. I became aware of it too late to join in. I don't know if anyone is doing it again this year, but I'm going to do it even if they don't.
I suppose the subject of MY pictures is pretty obvious. At age 12, he's in that middle ground between child and young adult and I think the changes will be fascinating over the course of a year - so here he is on the first day of the first month of 2012 - The Boy.

He's the same age as my grandson, Oden. Watching the changes is amazing.
I suspect this picture will look very different than the one to come in December. It always amazes he how much my kids change over the course of a year.

Great idea! Wish I had read about it earlier :( Kinda late for me to start...though I guess it can be started on any day in January as long as it's consistant!
